Who is the target group of the Business Anti-Corruption Portal?
The primary target group of the Portal is small and medium sized companies operation in developing countries and the information on the Portal is therefore specifically aimed at the need of these. This means that practical tools and information relevant for the day to day business of these companies is prioritised, and that theoretical and analytical elements on the phenomenon of corruption and the wider economic and social consequences will not be found on the Portal. There are excellent resources within and outside academia on these subjects and it is not the task of the Portal to compete with these. This being said, we are very happy to note that various other groups have shown interest in the Portal and find our information and tools useful.
Which Sources are Used?
The Portal uses publicly available sources in the production of the Country Profiles. The sources typically consist of a mixture of international and local media, official documentation, research articles and reports from IFIs, NGOs, aid agencies etc. These are all referred in the Source page of each Country Profile and after the Background Information section. We do our best to ensure that the information in the sources is correct and we always attempt to get a confirmation of controversial statements from other sources and never to present information with undisclosed sources.
How often is the Portal Updated?
The Country Profiles are updated at a minimum once annually. The other elements of the Portal are continuously maintained and updated. The feedback of the users of the Portal and the participants in the Business Anti-Corruption Portal Training courses are very important in this process.
